CHRIST PANTOCRATOR

This mosaic was created for Saint Augustine's Church, Barkingside, Essex. It shows Christ as law giver and creator, holding the book and raising his hand in blessing. The image is nspired by many Byzantine and Medieval mosaics of this subject, in particular the great Christ in Judgement on the ceiling of the Baptistery in Florence. It is not, however, a direct copy but a reinterpretation through contemporary eyes.
